How to Update Nexus 7 Tablet to Android 4.1.1
Google has started pushing out the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update to the Nexus 7 Tablet users. If you haven’t got the notification on your Nexus 7 yet and want to manually update your device, then following guide will be perfect for you. Just follow the steps given in the guide below and you will be updated to Android 4.1.1.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your tablet before doing this procedure. Please head to our how to root Nexus 7 procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.
2. You must have installed ClockworkMod Recovery on your device. Please see our guide on how to install ClockworkMod Recovery on Nexus 7.
3. You must not have flashed any custom kernel nor do you have modified the build.prop file.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Download the Update File from here. (Download link is in the first post)
III. Updating Nexus 7 to Android 4.1.1:
1. Place the downloaded Update File on the Desktop of your PC.
2. Connect your Nexus 7 to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Transfer the Update File to the root folder of your tablet’s SD card storage.
4. Disconnect your tablet from the PC after the file has successfully been transferred.
5. Turn OFF your tablet.
6. Reboot your tablet into the ClockworkMod Recovery. To do so, press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power keys together.
7. When you have entered the recovery mode, choose install zip from sdcard then toggle signature verification. Turn Signature Verification OFF.
8. Now, select choose zip from sdcard option.
9. Locate the Update File on your tablet and choose it for flashing.
10. After you have flashed the update file, choose reboot system now from the recovery menu.
Congo ! You have successfully updated your Nexus 7 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The update brings some bug fixes as well as some other improvements.
