HTC Thunderbolt to be released on March 10th by Best Buy

It was supposed to drop on February 24th initially and then the 28th, but it looks likes the gods in HTC realm decided to strike with the Thunderbolt a little later again, on March 10, 2011.   According to AndroidCommunity (and its semianonymous tipster), the smartphone will be available from Best Buy on that day and after many postponements, we sure hope this time it’s for real.

As we had already reported, this Android 2.2 smartphone is heading to Verizon and while we got you a pretty solid spec list some time back including its LTE capability, 8mpx lens and its 1gig processor, there was no news on its price then.  We now know that the device will be selling for no less than $749.99 sans contract., but with a new two-year Verizon agreement, the price will dip to $249.99, which is not so bad if you are up for an upgrade anyway.

Keep reading for more updates on the Thunderbolt and we’ll let you know if the release date changes.

This is not what an official release date form looks like btw. Store type it would say SWAS aka store with in a store or SAS stand alone store or SWAS/SAS. So I am not making any presumptions of the date untill it becomes official. Too many people are just reposting rumors and it’s all getting out of hand.
