Instagram Rumored To Get Vine Like Video Capabilities
TechCrunch is reporting that Facebook will soon add video capability to its wildly popular photo sharing app Instagram. The announcement is expected at Instagram’s press event scheduled for June 20th.
The videos would be between five and 10 seconds and there’s no information yet to suggest that Instagram filters would be available to the new feature. We’re assuming that this is Facebook’s response to the wildly growing (Twitter owned) Vine app.
Considering the on-going competitive war between Facebook and Twitter, it was just a matter of time before Instagram users were taking hipster videos of themselves. You could also think of it from Facebook’s perspective since integrating video would be a logical move to ensure the Instagrammer base continues to grow. As June 20th is just a few short calendar days away, we’ll just have to wait and see what the social media Gods have lined up for us.
