Moto X Camera App Leaked APK Shows Off Minimalist Gesture Based UI

It’s no secret that the Moto X will come equipped with a gesture based camera app, but the folks over at  Android Police were actually able to leak an APK of the app. The file downloads on several devices but, as expected, is missing some features. On the Nexus 4 HDR, quick capture and slow-motion video recording are not available.

Despite some of the functionality missing the camera UI is remarkably minimalist in nature. Simply swipe right to access the settings, swipe left for the gallery, swipe up/down to zoom, tap to capture, and hold to take multi shots.

Currently the end result is your standard stock Android 16:9 aspect ratio image. Who knows though, maybe by the time the Moto X is revealed on August 1st, the composition issues due to the viewfinder cropping the right edge of the issue will be fixed. Only a few short days until we know for sure. In the meantime you can peruse the images of the APK below.
