Motorola Milestone gets Android 2.2 Froyo, finally

First up, the good news.  After an excruciatingly long wait, Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 2.2 OTA update in Europe and various parts of Asia for the Milestone.  Milestone users can now enjoy in-browser Flash support, WiFi/USB tethering and all the other goodies that Froyo is known for.

The aging device has finally got what it was long due, but here comes the bad news.  Users who have updated to the official version have been noticing drastic dips in speed and the now “Flash-ready” device’s in-browser video quality can be described choppy at best.  If the company has pushed out a buggy version just to hold up its Q4 2011 promise, one wonders if the trade-off of speed for Flash is worth it after all.  But amendments could be made to the situation, but until then CyanogenMod anyone?
