New Phone: HTC Dragon

HTC Dragon 1HTC Dragon 2HTC Dragon 3

So as I thought, all those rumors about the Touch HD2 being Android were not entirely incorrect (well the HD2 was NOT Android as we know, but there is a reason why that rumor got started).

Developers have leaked screenshots of a new HTC phone nicknamed the Dragon for now. It supposedly has a 1GHz processor(a snapdragon most likely, hence the nickname), a capacitive screen, and 800×480 resolution. Oh an it’s running Android with HTC Sense on top (most likely).

I’m willing to bet HTC took the HD2 and loaded Android on it, so I won’t be surprised if were hear specs later of a “4.3 inch screen, 320MBs of RAM, etc.”  But we’ll have to wait and see.

What peaks my interest (besides the processor) is the resolution of 800×480. Why? Well, it makes me wonder if the widgets are still going to be the same amount of pixels in size or if they will be scaled up. Ya see, if they are the same size as they are now and placed on a screen with 800×480 pixels then they will be smaller and take up less screen (to see what I mean right click your desktop and change the resolution to a lower or higher setting for a sec, you’ll notice all your desktop icons and taskbar get larger or smaller, same concept). I’m hoping they actually do appear smaller since this would mean more widgets per screen 🙂 But again, we’ll have to see. (The menus seem scaled larger based on these pics, but don’t think that means the icons and widgets will be…).

  1. They will make the widgets with more pixels (i think), I heard they aready had to for the touchflo in the HD2, that is what I heard, somewhere, if i find a the link I’ll post it.

    1. Hello BigRu,

The HD2 is has the same resolution as the Pro2 and the Diamond2 (and a few other HTc’s with Touchflo and that same resolution already) so nothing had to change I don’t think. But there are no Android devices with anything besides 320×480 pixels. So it’ll be interesting to see what they do for the first device with a different resolution, right?
But if you find a link about it definitely post!

You thinking about getting an HTC Dragon when it comes out, BigRu?

  2. Did I say touchflo, haha, I meant sense, isn’t this the first HD(800×480)HTC sense UI phone? Still lookin for that link.
