Nexus One and Nexus S get updated OTA to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread
We have got some happy news to share with our Nexus One/S readers. Over the coming weeks, Google is rolling out the 2.3.3 update (Gingerbread, again) and Nexus S users will now be able to not only read tags but also write them – the device will also have the ability to act as a tag in itself. It will also endow the Nexus S with basic peer-to-peer NFC communication. The update might fix the random reboot and signal loss bugs which is yet to be confirmed, as the version notes fail to make a mention of this particular problem.
Another major change is that the OS will no longer sync contacts with Facebook – Google has now revoked the permissions Facebook previously used to circumvent apps that are usually required to the contacts API.
While this OTA update may not bring much to Nexus S users, Nexus One users definitely have a reason to celebrate as this will be their first real official taste of the Gingerbread. Look out for that notification in the next few weeks!
Do you know when google wil prodect arabic support for GingerBread?
I must say I’ve had all 3 iphones and even though I loved the dam thing I got really tired of jailbreaking them just to have features that my nexus one came with standard and now I don’t have to be moding my phone to have multitasking features or standard GPS navigation etc…
Still haven’t received it yet. Menu says I’m up to date, but version is 2.3.2.
