Rumor: LG Optimus ‘Big’ for Korea next month?

Aside from the three Optimus line phones and the Quantum showcased at CTIA 2011, it seems like LG might have another biggie ready for a release.  Just called the Optimus “Big” for obvious reasons, this upcoming smartphone is purported to feature a huge 4.3-inch touchscreen using their latest display technology – NOVA.  The same technology has already been employed in LG Optimus Black, which did get lauded for being a lot more brighter pit against sAMOLED, Retina and ClearBlack AMOLED displays, so it shouldn’t be any different on the Optimus Big’s slightly larger screen.

With the NOVA 4.3-inch display and a T-DMB TV tuner (a staple in the Korean market if you didn’t already know), the Optimus Big should also feature a 1GHz single processor but the spec sheet ends there for now; it is known though that the device is being prepped for a launch next month in Korea on LG’s own U+ network.  There’s no word on if and when this device will worm its way out of the country, but as with many other cell phones that have been Korea exclusive in the past, odds are it won’t and if it does, it might do so rebranded and a little tweaked for the rest of the world.
