Samsung Galaxy Pro with QWERTY announced for next month
Taking a leaf out of BlackBerry’s book, Samsung has announced a new QWERTY smartphone that is reminiscent of RIM’s favorite design – candybar. Called the Galaxy Pro, this Android phone was revealed recently by the company and although its specs may not blow your minds away, it still manages to put something on the table while being light on the wallet at the same time.
This mid-range Android device features a small (by current standards) 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a passable 3MP camera, microSD expansion, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS and the whole package is powered by a slightly weak (again, by current standards) 800MHz processor. The smartphone runs Android 2.2 Froyo (with TouchWiz and Social Hub Premium on top) but no announcement has been made whether this could transform to Gingerbread before/after the release. Oh, and there is the QWERTY keypad, which could be the dealmaker in its case when it is released.
While it’s not be the mighty Galaxy S2, it definitely packs a good slap (if not a punch) for a mid-segment device and should be affordable for many who want to test Android waters but don’t want to bear the high cost brunt initially. And speaking of cost, as usual, we have no news on that but we can tell you that the Samsung Galaxy Pro will be available via Three UK in April for starters and could probably make its way stateside later.

It is one of the best phones for who prefer key-board rather than touch-screen because it has black-berry keyboard with candy bar design.
