T-Mobile MyTouch Slide Users, Unreleased Froyo OTA in Custom ROM Form

ChiefzReloaded over at XDA has posted about what he claims is a ROM based on an unreleased but official ROM for the T-Mobile MyTouch Slide (He gives credit and special thanks to  Nbetcher and Krylon360, also on XDA).

The ROM is an Espresso Sense ROM based on the new, yet unreleased, OTA update to Android 2.2.1 with all the patches from all the previous OTA’s (1.18, 1.27, 1.35, 1.35.531.3, and 2.13) already applied. The ROM is simply deodexed and rooted, besides that it is all stock from the new OTA.

For those of you that want to try it out, you must be rooted as it is still a custom, unsigned ROM (even though it was based on an official ROM). So long as you are and have a custom recovery image, you can flash it the normal way by placing it on your sd card, booting into recovery, and flashing it. As always, perform a backup and then wipe data before flashing.

Enough talk, here’s the ROM, ladies and gents.

CR Mod 2.13.531.1 OTA ROM

If you are NOT rooted and want to download this ROM, you can either wait for the OTA OR feel free to head over to our How To Root Procedure for the MyTouch Slide and give it a go.

Any of you feel like thanking him? Head to the source link and click the Thanks button on his first post and/or click on his link in his signature to “buy him a cold one”.

Thanks David for sending this in!

  1. Pretty good job! I love it. Only a few issues. 1. I can’t use it as a disk drive anymore. When I plug it in, it just freezes, then restarts and gets stuck in that loop until I unplug it. 2. I hardly have any internal memory. I installed about 3-5 apps and its already telling me I’m low on space. My internal mem. Is 145mb. And 3. It seems a bit more slow than before. I’m not complaining I’m just trying to let you know of some issues I’ve found. Thanks again for the awesome rom. Besides those, its great!
