Three UK prepping Gingerbread for Samsung Galaxy S
A few days back, Three UK had announced that it will starting pushing out Gingerbread Android 2.3 update to the HTC Desire, most probably in late April/early May. The UK carrier seems to be in a really good mood nowadays as once again, they have announced on Twitter that yet another device on their network, the Galaxy S, will be getting the 2.3 update OTA in “a couple of weeks.” That is no more specific than the announcement for the Desire but it still does give Three UK users a vague time frame to expect the update.
The European version of the 2.3 update for the I9000 has been out in the open already for some time, thanks to a leak reportedly originating from a Samsung service center, but if you ignored that for an official offering, this is it. As for the Galaxy S users on other carriers/countries, sit tight and you should be getting it the same time as Three UK users.
