Two New Moto X Related Apps Hit Chrome And Google Play Ahead of Today’s Launch

Just mere hours before Motorola and Google take the wraps off of the Moto X, two brand new Motorola made apps have appeared in the Google Play store and in Chrome. The first app is called Motorola Connect, a Chrome extension that allows you to see text messages and calls coming through your “Connect enabled phone” in Chrome. The second app is an Android app called Migrate which enables users to migrate “photos, videos, SIM contacts, and even your call and text history” from your current phone to one of Motorola’s new devices.

Connect, which includes “Moto X”:

Motorola Connect allows you to see text messages and calls coming into your Connect enabled phone on your computer’s Chrome browser. You can read and respond to texts using your keyboard and even know who’s calling before deciding if you should reach for your phone.

Motorola Connect is currently supported on Moto X, DROID ULTRA, DROID MAXX and DROID MINI.

Migrate:

One of the biggest pains of a new phone is losing some of your important stuff. Now you can move your photos, videos, SIM contacts and even your call and text history—from your old Android phone to your new Motorola phone in just a few steps, wirelessly.
Motorola Migrate can only transfer media from devices with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above

Stay tuned for the big Moto X reveal, as we’ll have you covered on the launch details this afternoon. For now, curious Moto X fans can check out the new apps at the links below.
