Video: Android 4.0 on the Motorola Xoom

A video posted on GoogleMobile’s YouTube channel is all the proof some need to assume that the Ice-Cream Sandwich update for the Motorola’s Pure Google Experience tablet, Xoom, is in the oven.  The video, intended to showcase Android 4.0’s prowess to display Google Images on a tablet, is clearly using a Xoom to do that, which could only mean the update is in the offing and only an official announcement away.

The Xoom 2 has already been confirmed to get the update but this is the first time we have seen anything related to an ICS update on the first iteration of Moto’s successful tablet series.  The device does have the muscle power to actually run the update, with its dual-core 1GHz CPU and a gig of RAM, but the actual release of the update hinges on Moto’s attitude to do so, which going by history has been later than sooner.  Still, Motorola might make an exception and announce this update soon before users start migrating to far greener vistas offered by the developer community, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that will be the case some time soon.
