Video: Sony Ericsson shows off Android 2.1 on Xperia X10

If it was a video for Froyo, we would have rejoiced but at the moment, even Eclair should be good enough for us.  Sony Ericsson has just put a video of the aging Xperia X10 (currently on 1.6) running on Android 2.1 and the improvements that the newer version offers.  The video has been shot on an updated X10 to show off its HD 720p recording prowess, which actually does seem to do a good job.  Other improvements mainly focus on the UI and here are some:

  • Enhanced Timescape with auto-scrolling of SMS text
  • Improved social contacts with a lot more options for communications
  • Improved in-call UI with more options

Nice improvements if you ask us but it would be nicer if SE just released the update and let us experience it instead of teasing us with its videos, don’t you think?

  1. yeah I guess it’s better than nothing. The X10 is a bit slow and wish it could speed up a little but I hope 2.1 will improve that too.
