Windows Phone 7 Mango Is Done Says Microsoft, Now It’s Up To The Manufacturers
Running ahead of schedule is not something we here everyday in our line of work. However, Microsoft has surprised us all by confirming that they are in fact done with their next product, Windows Phone 7 Mango. Peter Wissinger, Microsoft’s director of Mobile Business in the Nordic countries, released an official statement today on Mango’s status,
“Now it’s up to our manufacturing partners to release Mango to our customers. Microsoft has delivered complete Mango earlier than planned to the manufacturers. Feels good now.”
Great, Microsoft has their act together so when exactly can we expect to see the first Mango device? It’s hard to tell as now the hard work rests with the manufacturers. Currently, Microsoft is relying on Nokia, HTC, LG, Samsung, Dell, ZTE Corporation, Acer, and Fujitsu to supply the hardware.
From what we can tell, Nokia already has something in the works with its Sea Ray and Fujitsu has its Toshiba-Fujitsu IS12T expected to launch in September. As for all the other manufacturers we are left playing the waiting game while Microsoft can rest easy knowing they’ve finished their side of the work.
FYI, if you’re anxious to get Mango now instead of waiting for the manufacturer’s to add in their goodies, here’s how.
