I followed everything and when the reinstall packages ran on the phone, the bottom message read:
“E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted”
It didn’t work for me. Any suggestions for my Captivate on AT&T?
Thanks

i had vibrant 2.1 rooted…then updated to 2.2 froyo via kies mini.. and it took away root… but then tried rerooting via your process and it made it to the reboot page on my phone to reinstall packages and came up with E:signature verification failed Installation aborted”… i tried numerous times and it still wont take. could it be because of the 2.2 update? curious
thanks…phil

Same issue
Redpy5 said on February 1, 2011
Same. Looks like they need to create a new rooting process being that the signature isn’t verifying.

Kept retrying…kept getting same thing….z4 doesn’t work either, not on the Samsung Galaxy S for Tmobile

I had no luck in several attempts with the Captivate-specific rooter here (wouldn’t write update.zip to the sd card), but first try with the “Galaxy-S-one-click-root-all-models” rooter (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304) worked right away.
Elam_email said on March 2, 2011
I used the Captivate rooter. Gave me the E: Signature verification failed installation aborted. I tried the Galaxy-S-one-click-root-all-models — same error.

I activated the USB Debugging, but when I plug in my Captivate to my PC, it shows no sign of it being connected other than it charging my phone. What did I do wrong?
Suburbindifer05 said on February 3, 2011
You are amazing thank you so much, was fastest root i have ever done, G1, Flipside, and Captivate are the 3 I have done, G1 took 3 hours, Flipside took 10 min, and this was done before your video was

i followed the instructions above to root my samsung galaxy vibrant s firmware 2.2, and when i get to the
recovery mode it doesn’t have reinstall packages so i just picked the second option about the sd card i hope
that is correct and then followed the rest of the instructions. Still no luck rooting my phone if you can help me
it will greatly appreciated.

I have a vibrant that i rooted a couple of months ago. A week or so after rooting i noticed that my usb connection was a bit off. If i unplugged the charger, the battery icon would look like i was still charging the phone. It would also look as if i was charging from my laptop if i was charging from a wall. Not sure if I should un-root the phone. Any suggestions
