TheUnlockr Show: Episode 1/Pilot
January 5, 2011 in Featured, Show, Video
In this episode,we do a quick review of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS, we do some tests on the new OS comparing it to the Nexus One (Android OS) and the iPhone 4 (iOS), and we even compare Microsoft’s marketing claims for the new OS against real time time trials to see if what they are saying is just your average marketing fluff or if there is some truth to it after all.
We also do a news segment talking about the new Vizio tablet and phone, AT&T’s new lineup of high-end Android devices (HTC Inspire, Motorola Atrix, and Samsung Infuse) and there official 4G plans, and the new ASUS tablet that uses a capacitive stylus for input.
Since this is a pilot episode, PLEASE comment underneath here and let us know what you liked and didn’t like, any changes you’d like to see, if we should even attempt a show in your opinion, should we just do a news show, some other type of show, etc. Thanks!

The information is great. The comparison’s were great and the length of the video was great. I would keep music playing in the background the whole time (when you were sending a text message to show the multi tasking). I would also remove all the FILLER words “so” , “ummm”.
I liked how you also made it a two part sequence. First part, hands on…second part news. Keep that.
I enjoyed the show. Make a part two.

I liked it, would definitely watch another.
To be fair I don’t think the windows phone test was necessarily fair. I perceive their claims of “faster” to mean their interface makes more sense so similar complete tasks could be accomplished faster, not just opening windows or websites. Your test of actually uploading a pic to facebook, for example, or composing an email, attaching a file, choosing a contact, and sending. Granted that speed of opening the app is part of that, but you see where I’m going.
Either way I thoroughly enjoy the real world tests you run and really appreciate all the tutorials. Thank you!

LOVE the idea of hearing this type of information from someone with what I consider some credibility. Tired of hearing technology news from people that don’t understand what they are saying, just reading from a card with a smile.
Hope to see more, keep it up!

Great maiden voyage. Good content, well delivered. I would definitely like to see more episodes. The only thing I would like to see improved is the sound quality. Not bad, just not great. With this inaugural offering, I’m sure things will steadily get even better.

Definitely good content. Your audio needs a lot more noise reduction though. Fuzzy stuff. I say go with an episode 4-5. It’s definitely a good start!
