How To Use Pen Window On Your Galaxy Device With S Pen

Samsung devices are leagues above the competition when it comes to multitasking, especially those with the S Pen stylus. They come with features, such as Pen Window, which lets you bring up often used apps in a small window that floats above another app you’re using which is taking up the entire screen.

At the moment, Calculator, Clock, YouTube, Phone, Contacts, ChatON, Hangouts, and Internet are available on Pen Window (unless of course you root it and follow this procedure to enable all apps for S Pen Window). Just like Samsung’s Multi Window feature (available on most Galaxy devices, even non-S Pen), the reasons to use Pen Window are endless. One of my favorite Pen Window apps is Hangouts as I am constantly using it to communicate with friends and family; it means I don’t need to constantly switch to Hangouts anymore.

I. Use The S Pen To Activate Pen Window

1. Hover the S Pen over your device’s screen till you see a small circle under the S Pen’s tip. You can do this over the home screen, or over any open app.

2. Click the button on your S Pen to open Air Command.

3. Hover the S Pen over to the Pen Window icon on the very right and tap it.

4. Tap the box next to “Do not show again” in the tip window and hit OK so that the tutorial doesn’t appear anymore.

5. Draw a box on the screen with the S Pen.

6. Once you lift the S Pen off the screen, an app tray will appear.

7. Select an app you’d like to open and it will appear where you drew the box.

II. Add More Pen Windows (Optional)

1. Repeat Step I

III. Minimize Pen Windows (Optional)

If you use certain Pen Window apps regularly, you can minimize the Pen Windows so you can quickly access them from the home screen, or any open app.

1. Tap the minimize button towards the top right of the Pen Window.

2. The Pen Window will minimize into a ball which will stick to your screen no matter what you’re doing (even when watching a YouTube video).
