II. Purchase an Unlock Code

1. Either Google for an unlock code provider or purchase one directly from us from our Unlock My Phone section linked below (the unlock code costs start at $29.95 and vary based on manufacturer/carrier. They also usually takes between 2-3 days and if a code cannot be produced a full refund is given).

III. Input the Unlock Code

1. You’ll eventually receive the email with the unlock code(s).

2. Remove the SIM card if there is one.

3. Insert an unauthorized SIM card into the device.

4. You will be prompted for a code when you turn on the device. Input the first code you received via email and click OK. If that doesn’t work, try the second code. Once it says successful, the device should say the new carrier’s name at the top left.

IV. Setup the Internet and MMS Settings

1. Go to Settings > More… > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

2. Tap the three dots (or plus sign) at the top right of the screen and select New APN.

3. Enter in all the information for your carrier into the proper fields. You can find your carrier’s internet settings here sorted by country/carrier alphabetically.

      1. Root has been up. Unlock the boot loader, as with any HTC phone. Download HTC drivers, and drivers and have fastboot files. Flash custom recovery, you can get from xda, then flash support user apps through recovery. Same with all HTC phones.

  1. I have the HTC desire 510 by virgin mobile but purchased at best buy.. I am able to put a SIM card in this phone and I have an unlock code but the screen for me to enter it doesn’t show up

    1. Hi Safia,

Virgin Mobile is a CDMA carrier, and you can’t unlock their devices to work with GSM carriers.

That’s why your device doesn’t ask for an unlock code.

      Hope this helps!

    2. Safia, Virgin Mobile USA’s HTC Desire 510 is a 4G phone & comes with a SIM Card Slot. Yes you can have it unlocked & use other network’s SIM Card like T-Mobile’s/AT&T’s etc. You can go to ebay & search for “HTC Desire 510 Unlock Code” & buy an unlock code from there or simply call Cricket if you are their subscriber to get an unlock code from them

      1. Thank you for your help.
But do you know if it would work in another country?
Because I would use this phone in Brazil? Or do you hava an idea how could I discovery it?
        Thank you

        1. Hi Yago,

The Sprint uses CDMA phones that can’t be unlocked to work with GSM carriers. However, some CDMA phones come with a SIM card slot (they’re called World Edition phones). So, if yours has a SIM card slot, just ask Sprint customer care to provide you with an unlock code.

They may be able to help you unlock your device.

          Hope this helps!

      1. Hi Mahesh,
i already paid on another site and they discovered they cannot unlock it after payment was made. i really need your confirmation that you can unlock it and how much time you need.

        1. Hi Bogdan,

We do unlock almost all the phones as long as they aren’t on CDMA carriers, and they do prompt for an unlock code when you put in an unauthorized SIM card.

If that’s what your device is, we’ll be able to unlock it. And, if we can’t get you an unlock code, you’ll get a full refund. So there’s no loss at all.

You can place your order on our unlocking page, and we’ll process it right away.

          Thank you Bogdan!

    1. Hello,

You can try unlocking your Sprint device but we do NOT guarantee that it’ll work.
