iOS 7 Beta 5 Available: New Lock Screen Design and Bug Fixes

It has only been a week after Apple’s iOS 7 Beta 4 was released and now Beta 5  is available to developers who have the pre-release software installed on their devices. Now that we are on our 5th Beta, the software is likely to be approaching its stable launch.

Beta 5 brings with it a new design for the iOS lock screen. The original iOS 7 had arrows indicating where to swipe to pull down notifications and visual cues about what to do to unlock the device which ended up confusing most users. This build shows the most significant change showing that Apple is committed to the test phase and users feedback before the stable launch release in the Fall.

  • According to release notes provided by TechCrunch bug fixes include the below:
  • Addresses issue related to iPhone 4 devices not being able to download App Store content
  • Adds Voice Memos to the types of content restored when restoring from an iCloud backup
  • Ability to turn off Control Center within apps

Installation instructions and download links for the latest iOS 7 beta 5 build will be available here tomorrow, so keep checking with us for an updated post.
