Windows Phone 7 Emulator Hacked to Reveal More Features, Video Walkthrough

Dan Ardelean, apparently found a way to get the ROM from inside the Windows 7 Emulator. Once he did that, he was able to unlock other features that were shown off at MIX10 (but were not normally available in the emulator). After posting up the binaries files to enable others to do this, he quickly took them down fearing the wrath of Microsoft.

Luckily for the rest of us, Jason Cartwright from TechAu.tv, got his hands on those binaries before they were taken down and decided to put up two quick video run throughs of what was unlocked. Take a look:

  1. This definitely looks like a huge step in the right direction for Windows Mobile or “Windows Phone”. I was using Windows Mobile(6.0, 6.1, then 6.5) and it was just painful lol. I am now an Android user, but it is nice to see that Microsoft is getting back in the game
